Whey

Whey is the milk serum that is obtained during the manufacture of cheese after sepa­ration of casein and fat during milk coagulation. Generally citric acid and some times rennet and few times lactase is used for co­agulation.

Depending upon the raw material used in the coagulation of milk, i.e. enzymatic rennet coagulation or by acid coagulation, it is broadly classified into sweet whey, otherwise known as rennet whey and acid whey or quark whey. The composition of the whey differs depending upon the coagulant used. Generally in pure acid co­agulation, calcium is removed from the calcium-casein complex, and calcium lactate is formed jointly with milk. Casein has the tendency to precipitate when the calcium is removed. The acid whey or quark whey is milk serum obtained during an acidic coagulation and has calcium lactate. Enzymatic coagulation entails splitting of milk protein resulting in the formation of calcium para-caseinate, In this, the calcium remains bound in the coagulated protein. Beta lactoglobulin, alpha lactalbumin, immunoglobulin and serum albumin (the non casein fractions) are not generally precipitated and they remain in solution in the form of whey or serum proteins.

Sweet whey or rennet whey is a milk serum obtained during enzymatic coagulation of casein and is generally free from calcium. Hence, no calcium lactate can be formed with lactic acid. Sweet whey and acid whey are individually distinct. The former cannot be converted into the latter even with post-acidification.

Another type of whey, which is not described earlier is industrial-grade whey, wherein, coagulation of the protein is done with acids other than lactic acid, e.g., hydrochloric acid, acetic acid or sulfuric acid.

The fat content of the whey depends mainly on the fat content of the cheese milk A high fat content in the cheese milk leads to a more fat content in whey, more so, when the cheese milk has not been homogenized. When the fat content of the whey exceeds 0.1%, it is usually decreamed or fat removed. The cream thus obtained is either processed into whey butter or utilized back in the standardization of fat of the cheese milk. Whey contains vitamins B and C, vitamin B2 and lactoflavin which are responsible for the green yellow colour of whey.

Does Muscle Milk Affect Penis Size?

So, does Muscle Milk affect penis size? Hahaha! I find the question laughable but since it gets asked so much on various forums, it must be a concern for a number of men out there.

First what is Muscle Milk? It is a popular muscle building protein supplement created by CytoSport, a company founded by the father and son team of Greg and Mike Pickett.

Like most protein drinks it is primarily made from whey protein, the protein found in milk. It also includes casein. This is the reason that it is said to be 'evolutionary'.

Whey protein is absorbed into the blood stream relatively fast but also gets burned up just as fast and so much of the whey that one consumes after a workout will not actually be used in protein synthesis.

On the other hand, casein takes longer to get absorbed but also stays in the body much longer. This duality of having both quick absorption and slow release proteins improves the muscle building process since some form of protein will always be available-the whey during the first few hours and casein over the next several hours.

The reasoning is sound but whether this is what actually happens in practice is less clear. The three different studies I have seen all seem inconclusive. All I can say is that Muscle Milk is at least as good as any regular whey protein.

It derives its name 'Muscle Milk' from the effect that a human mother's milk has on a baby i.e. nourishing and providing immunity.

In addition to the proteins it contains compounds like bovine colostrum which has important anabolic properties.

Colostrum is the milk produced by a human female 24-48hrs after birth. Bovine colostrum is from cows and is thought to have even more of these anabolic (growth) properties.

And now the all important question: Does Muscle Milk affect penis size?

As I noted earlier the question is laughable but on closer consideration maybe it is plausible. After all it contains anabolic properties that aid in muscle growth. Shouldn't they aid in penis growth as well?

Unfortunately not. The muscle growth that results from taking Muscle Milk only happens when you engage in intense training. Intense training causes micro-tears to your muscle tissues.

The healing of these micro-tears aided by excess protein calories is what actually causes growth.

There are no micro-tears caused to the penis and therefore no increase in size. Also understand that the penis is mostly made up of cartilage and fibrous tissue.

Even if you somehow managed to subject it to the kind of intense training you do to your biceps and chest, it would not grow.

So again, let me be crystal clear. Muscle Milk does not affect penis size.

Although whey protein allergy is not common, it needs to be taken very seriously. Whey is a protein powder that is a by-product of cheese production. The fact that it is derived from cow's milk concerns people with milk allergy and lactose intolerance.

In summary, there are several advantages to incorporating whey protein into your diet. Although whey protein allergy is uncommon, you need to educate yourself and stay informed of all developments on using whey protein supplements.
